Acronis Backup & Recovery 11: Connection Attempt Fails with "Only Acronis Agent Core is installed"

Install the necessary Acronis Agents

Symptoms

1. From Acronis Management Console you attempt to connect to a machine with Acronis Agent;
2. The connection attempt fails with the following error message:

   Only Acronis Agent Core is installed

Cause

You have only Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 Agent Core installed on the machine.

Acronis Agent Core does not back up or recover, it only contains the core functionality required by the other Acronis Agents (e.g. Acronis Agent for Windows).

Solution

Install the necessary Acronis Agents on the machine:

1. Run the Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 distributive on the machine where the necessary Acronis Agents should be installed;
2. Click Install Acronis Backup & Recovery 11:

3. Click Modify:

4. Select the necessary Acronis Agents under Agent Core:

5. Complete the installation.

The issue is only with a local installation of the product. Remote installation does not allow installation of Acronis Agent Core without the necessary components.
